As we near 2015, we see some interesting trends in enterprise mobility to watch for in the coming year!
2014 was the year of BYOD and we are now entering a world that’s changing both in terms of how stakeholders are collaborating with each other and how all devices wired or wireless are performing at the same productivity levels. Enterprises are switching to a stronger mobility base with newer business models to meet with the global transformation as to how information is shared and accessed.
1) Increase in the acceptance of hybrid BYOD/CYOD models:
Due to the explosion of technology and apps for mobile devices, there is an increase in the acceptance of the BYOD movement. And there are several enterprises shifting to the Choose Your Own Device (CYOD) model. 2015 is expected to be the year of hybrid BYOD/CYOD model.
2) Access from the mobile device to be broadened:
Organizations will broaden the range of services and apps that can be accessed remotely from a mobile device, to give employees what they need and when they need it. The perception of enterprise mobility only for field users is giving way to understanding the need of mobility across all functions of an enterprise.
3) Advanced mobile UX design:
Exceptional user experience on B2E and B2C mobile apps achieved with a variety of techniques through motivational designs, interactive interfaces and new methodological interfaces will create the WOW factor across enterprises.
4) High precision location sensing:
Knowing an individual’s location to within a few meters is a key enabler of the delivery of highly relevant contextual information and services. Apps exploiting precise indoor location currently use technologies such as Wi-Fi, imaging, ultrasonic beacons and geomagnetics. 5) Emergence of Enterprise App Stores:
In order to keep pace with both – advances in mobile technology and the dynamic needs of business, enterprises are now looking for ways to make their apps accessible to their clients in a secure and controlled way. These marketplaces are set to support B2B app exchanges.
In 2015, enterprises will continue to adopt mobile technology at a rapid pace. Due to this, they will need to evolve their approach towards the management and deployment of mobile devices, its services and apps, to maintain ROI and competitive advantage. Given the productivity gains, businesses are going to rely even more heavily on enterprise mobility solutions.
