Field Sales App to Process Sales Orders On-site

The client is an online distributor store.
Need
The client required a Field Sales App to enable the sales workforce to enter sales orders from the customer’s location using mobile/tablet devices.
Solution
INDUSA developed a Field Sales App for the client for order placement in real-time. There were two main components involved – mobile app and Web component. The mobile app is installed in each sales person’s mobile device. All the data related to orders, customers and products are saved in the application as XML files. The web based component facilitates data transfer between the AX database and the mobile app database.
INDUSA developed a Field Sales Application that enables the sales workforce to enter sales orders from customer’s location. Some of its key functionalities include:
- Application integrated with Dynamics AX through Business Connector
- Field-based view and update information through smartphone
- Multiple mobile platform support
- Smartphone application and web component driving integration with Dynamics AX ERP
- Google Maps Integration for driving directions for sales personnel
Process followed:
- The mobile device gets connected to the computer/laptop which in turn accesses the Web component to upload/download data files
- The new order/customer that has been created using the mobile device is transferred to the computer/laptop which in turn is updated in the AX database via the Web component
- Data is fetched from the AX database using AIF interface via the Web component to the computer/laptop and is sent to the mobile device for the use of sales persons
- This application gets integrated directly with the respective back office systems, enabling a field-based user to view and update information through their mobile device (Windows Mobile) regardless of their location
